Why I Love Trigger Point Ball Release for Glutes And Why You Might Too! š
As we age, our glutes can hold onto tension we donāt even realise is thereātightness that pulls on our hips, affects our posture, and can even contribute to lower back or sciatic discomfort. Thatās why this simple self-massage technique has become a non-negotiable part of my morning routine pre pilates class.
Using a small ball (I use a trigger point ball or even a tennis ball š¾) on the glutes is such a powerful way to release deep tensionāmore targeted than a foam roller and perfect for finding those sneaky knots.
⨠Hereās what it can do:
š¹ Release deep knots ā especially in the gluteus medius & piriformis
š¹ Ease lower back pain ā tight glutes often pull on the pelvis and spine
š¹ Relieve sciatic discomfort ā by loosening the piriformis muscle
š¹ Improve hip mobility ā so walking, bending, and squatting feel smoother
š¹ Boost circulation ā bringing fresh blood and nutrients to tired muscles
š¹ Increase body awareness ā helping you tune in to where youāre holding tension
It might feel intense at first (hello, trigger points!), but with gentle, mindful pressure, it becomes incredibly freeing. I always feel taller, lighter, and more aligned afterwards.
š In the video, Iām showing you exactly how I do itāsafe, effective, and accessible, whether youāre new to this or already love your release work.
Give it a try and let me knowādid you find a spot you didnāt know was tight? š¬
